These towels are from the 2001 Playoffs. The Canucks were entering the Playoffs for the first time since 1996, and were playing the President Trophy winning Colorado Avalanche. The first three games would all be one goal games, all won by Colorado. The fourth game, which was in Vancouver, was a 5-1 blowout for the Avalanche, completing the four-game sweep.
This towel was the in-game towel form the series. It has a similar layout as the 2002 towel, except that there are only three sponsors instead of five. The left is CKNW AM 980, the then radio broadcasters of the Canucks. The middle is Coca-Cola, and the right is The Province Sports.
